In Uganda, access to clean water remains a significant challenge, particularly for orphaned children who lack the support networks enjoyed by others. Many orphanages rely on unreliable water sources such as contaminated wells or distant streams, exposing children to waterborne diseases and robbing them of precious time that could be spent on education and play.
For these orphans, the quest for water is often an arduous journey, with some having to trek for miles under the scorching sun, carrying heavy jerry cans on their small shoulders. This daily struggle not only drains their energy but also jeopardizes their health and well-being. In such circumstances, access to clean water is not just a convenience; it's a fundamental human right that is tragically out of reach for many.
We are currently in the process of donating funds to create water wells and water pumps that will give a vital supply of fresh and clean water to the village.
